Tokyo BayCity Koutsu is a bus that runs in Chiba and Urayasu areas. It mainly connects Shin-Urayasu Station, Urayasu Station and Maihama Station. It is a highly convenient bus for sightseeing in Urayasu area and transportation in Urayasu city.

Urayasu City Folk Museum (get off at the Shiyakusho mae bus stop), located right next to the Urayasu City Hall, has an outdoor exhibition hall that recreates the streets of the city around 1952, when it was a prosperous fishing town and houses and stores in the city from that time have been relocated as they were. It is a hands-on museum where citizens can experience various aspects of life in the old days.

Toyouke Jinja Shrine (get off at Toyouke Jinja) near Urayasu Station was built in 1157 and is the oldest shrine in Urayasu. The large ginkgo tree in the temple grounds is the largest tree in Urayasu and is said to be 400 years old. It is a recommended spot for the season of autumn leaves. At the Urayasu Sanja Festival held once every four years, plenty portable shrines parade through the city and the whole city gets excited.

Maihama is also known as Tokyo Disney Resort®. Maihama Coast, located on the south side of the vast theme park, is a pleasant place with a panoramic view of Tokyo Bay. On the opposite shore, the buildings of Tokyo and Mt. Fuji can be seen in large scale, making it an ideal spot for photography. Beautiful sunset and the Maihama Coastal Walkway (get off at Undo Koen) is a great place for walking and cycling.

And speaking of famous gourmet food in Urayasu, grilled hamaguri clams / grilled asari clams. The shellfish which are stabbed on skewers one by one and grilled fragrantly over charcoal are exquisite as the taste spreads as you chew. Echigoya Yaki Hamaguri-ten (Get off at Urayasu Eki Iriguchi) is popular as a souvenir and a return gift for hometown tax payment.

Urayasu has beautiful cityscapes reminiscent of an upscale resort on the west coast of the United States and well-maintained promenades lined with palm trees swaying in the sea breeze. Urayasu has many large parks including a comprehensive park and is a highly recommended area for outings with children. Why not enjoy the Urayasu area to the fullest with a 1-day pass?
