The Osaka Monorail is the second longest monorail in the world, connecting Toyonaka City where Osaka International Airport (Itami Airport) is located to Kadoma City for a total length of 28km and is loved by the locals as a means of transportation in northeastern Osaka Prefecture.
The Osaka Monorail is the main access line to Itami Airport (get off at Osaka-Airport), the gateway to Osaka and there are plenty places to go along the line! The area along the Osaka Monorail Line is full of places to visit and enjoy both on weekdays and holidays.
The Expo'70 Commemorative Park (get off at Bampaku-kinen-koen) which was built on the site of the "Japan World Exposition (Osaka Expo’70)" held in 1970 is a popular spot famous as a place of relaxation for the citizens of the prefecture. There is Japan's largest large-scale complex "EXPOCITY" nearby and among them "Nifrel" produced by "Kaiyukan" is a unique facility that is rare in Japan and combines an aquarium a zoo and an art museum. Japan Professional Football League "Panasonic Stadium Suita" the home stadium of "Gamba Osaka" is also adjacent to Expo City and is crowded with many soccer fans.
There are also many academic facilities along the line, such as Senri-Chuo (get off at Senri-Chuo) which is always ranked as one of the best places to live in Japan, Osaka University (get off at Shibahara-handai-mae / Handai-byoin-mae), Osaka University Hospital (get off at Handai-byoin-mae) and Ritsumeikan University Ibaraki Campus and Ritsumeikan Ibaraki Future Plaza (get off at Unobe). The area is connected to six train lines (Hankyu, Keihan, Osaka Metro, Kita-Osaka Kyuko), providing smooth access to major terminals in Osaka such as Shin-Osaka, Umeda and Namba. It forms a convenient living area.
