Kominato Railway is a local line that connects Goi Station in Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture to Kazusa Nakano Station in Otaki Town. More than half of the stations are unmanned and the station buildings and the scenery along the line have a nostalgic feel to them. It also features a cute, retro red and cream colored train. It's a diesel railcar that doesn't require electric wires to power trains, which is rare in the city, so it looks great no matter where you take a picture and it's popular with railway fans.

Especially, Lake Takataki which is located in the middle of the line, is an artificial lake created by a dam and boasts the largest water storage area in Chiba Prefecture. In addition to various plazas such as observation terraces on the shore of the lake, there are tourist spots such as the Ichihara Lakeside Museum which holds the works of artists related to Ichihara City and artists who are active in Japan and overseas and Takataki Shrine is one of the power spots in Chiba Prefecture. It is a place of relaxation for the citizens which combination of history and culture. In addition, the facility Takatakiko Glamping Resort which was created by renovating the former Takataki Elementary School is a hot spot where you can experience the resort feeling with a Californian style while feeling the nature on the shores of Lake Takataki.

Lake Takataki has recently become popular for wagtails fishing which peaks from October to February and in addition to boat fishing and you can also enjoy dome fishing in a greenhouse at the end of the pier.
