Shima Onsen is a hot spring resort located in Joshinetsu Kogen National Park in the northwestern part of Gunma Prefecture.Shima Onsen has a legend that there is a sacred spring that heals 40,000 illnesses since olden times, and it is a good hot spring recognized by the government as the first national resort designated as a national recreational hot spring area.You can experience Shima Onsen in each of the four seasons, such as the contrast between Oku-Shima Lake, which turns a brilliant azure color called Shima Blue, and Shima Lake and fresh greenery, and the open-air baths where you can warm your body and soul as you watch the snowfall.
