IZUHAKONE Railway Daiyuzan Line is a railway line that connects Odawara Station in western Kanagawa Prefecture to Daiyuzan Station in Minamiashigara City. The total line is 9.6km and the number of stations is 12 in total. All stations are located in Kanagawa prefecture and it is easy to access from within Tokyo and it is popular as a local railway where you can easily enjoy a peaceful train window. There are many places to heal such as shrines and temples and sightseeing spots that make the most of nature! I recommend it for a relaxing trip.

Odawara Castle (get off at Odawara Station, about 10 minutes walk) is a sightseeing spot that represents Odawara! Completed a major renovation in 2016, to make it look beautiful. It's close to Odawara station, so it's a perfect starting point for your trip. There is an observatory on the top floor of the castle tower which is the best observatory spot where you can see Sagami Bay and the Boso Peninsula.

Odawara Flower Garden (get off at Iidaoka Station, about 20 minutes walk) is a flower garden that you can enjoy in all seasons including flowers of the four seasons, plums, irises and roses. The Tropical Dome is the main facility, where visitors can view more than 200 varieties of colorful tropical flowers. There is also a cafe, so taking a break while gazing at the flowers with a tropical juice is the real pleasure of a leisurely trip.

Daiyuzan Station is the end of the Daiyuzan Line. The quaint station building has been selected as one of the "100 Best Stations in Kanto" and the departure melody is "Kintaro" and there are many points that can be stabbed by railroad fans. In fact, the Minamiashigara region where Daiyuzan Station is located is "Kintaro's hometown". There is a statue of Kintaro in the station building and there are many spots related to the legend of Kintaro nearby. In addition, Daiyuzan which is the origin of the station name has an ancient temple, Saijoji which has a history of more than 600 years and is famous as a power spot where you can get the benefits of TENGUS (deified as guardian deities of the temple).

Daiyuzan Line is full of charm that you can enjoy leisurely which is unique to the local line. The route is just right for a day trip and perfect for wandering around. It is also a good place to visit while sightseeing in Odawara or Atami. You can enjoy a different kind of experience.
