Isumi City, which faces Sotobo in Chiba, is a small town at the southernmost tip of Kujukuri Beach. It is a place where you can enjoy the scenery of the countryside, rich in nature and relaxing time.

There are many attractive spots along the railway line centering on the ISUMI RAILWAY which is loved by railroad fans as one of the few local lines remaining in the metropolitan area! "The Second Gonomachi Railroad Crossing (get off at Kuniyoshi Station, 25 minutes on foot)" where you can take pictures of only the sky, trains, and level crossings is famous not only among railroad fans but also among photography enthusiasts nationwide and has been used as a popular photo spot in numerous commercials and posters.

We also recommend you to visit historical spots where you can casually drop by such as Otaki Castle (get off at Otaki Station) which has a museum displaying historical materials of Boso area and Mangi Castle Park (get off at Kuniyoshi Station), which is the remains of a typical mountain castle in Boso. If you want to enjoy nature even more, Yorokeikoku (Yoro Gorge) is popular among hikers for its beautiful fresh greenery and autumn leaves (transfer from Kazusa-Nakano Station to KOMINATO RAILWAY and get off at Yorokeikoku Station).

And the gourmet, Sotobo's seafood and mountain food are plentiful. Among them, spiny lobster has the largest landing volume in Japan! Takomeshi (Seasoned rice with octopus) is also famous. For seafood it is recommended to visit the monthly morning market held at Ohara Fishing Port. It is also famous for its cheese and pears. You can relax on the local line and refresh your mind and body. Why don't you make memories of a small trip on the ISUMI RAILWAY that you can easily enjoy?
